Confirmation on Dillian Whyte’s opponent imminent. Favourite is Dereck Chisora
- Talks between Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn and Chisora’s manager David Haye.
- Fight at the 02 Arena on December 22 2018.
- Whyte is No1-ranked challenger for the WBO Title held by Anthony Joshua.
- Big risk for ‘The Bodysnatcher’ – AJ’s booked Wembley on April 13 2019.
Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn reveals at 1pm (1st Nov) the opponent for December 22 bout on Sky Box Office PPV at the O2 Arena in London, UK.
Dereck Chisora (29 Wins, 21 KOs) looks to be next with media saying the fight is a done deal.
The winner of the WhytevsChisora fight could face Anthony Joshua, however US fighter Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller may clinch the fight against Joshua if Whyte loses to Chisora.
Agreeing splits between the two London fighters have been the stumbling block. ‘A-side’ Whyte wanting a 50-50 split after Chisora agreed to a 70-30 deal.
Other potential opponents have all committed to other fights. Whyte’s back-up options were: Luis Ortiz, Jarrell Miller and Dominic Breazeale.
Eddie Hearn on AJ’s next Wembley Fight:
“Anthony has now done his WBA mandatory defence by beating Alexander Povetkin. The next one is the WBO and Dillian Whyte is No1 for that. If he gets beaten against Chisora, Jarrell Miller becomes big in April.”
NO mention by Hearn on WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder
Hearn talking up a fight between Joshua and Wilder for April 13 has now lost momentum.
Wilder wants a 50-50 deal, but Hearn has been offering him flat fee offers. It’s the way ‘Fast Car Eddie’ does business.
Wilder is facing Tyson Fury on December 1st in Los Angeles, California.
More to come…
